WANTED: Minute Takers

Broadmoor Meeting Services is always on the look out for new recording secretaries throughout the GTA (primarily Toronto & Mississauga) to attend condominium Board and other meetings. Many of our secretaries have been doing this for years so obviously they enjoy taking minutes and the flexibility the job offers. We strive to set you up with regular clients convenient to your work or home. It is always up to you whether you want to accept taking a meeting – you are in control.

You are not expected to provide a transcript – but instead, a summary of discussion, much like taking notes during a lecture. The minutes must be well written and require minimal editing. You can use whatever you are comfortable with: a laptop, recording device, and/or old fashioned pen and paper.

Meetings are held primarily during weeknights, Monday to Thursday, but not always. The number of meetings per month for each secretary is highly variable, anywhere between 1 and 6. Busy periods are September to November and April to June.

You will be expected to email a set of minutes within 5 to 10 business days after the meeting to our office. Payment is based on the length of the meeting. The secretary is responsible for transportation to and from meetings.

If you are interested, then you will be interviewed and expected to attend an Annual General Meeting pro bono. We are looking for meeting minutes that are well written and which accurately reflects all discussion highlights, actions, motions, and Q’s and A’s.
